Weekly Reading: June 12th – 18th

It’s been an embarrassingly long time since I posted. I plead grad school. But don’t worry, Tarot always takes precedence, and so it is in my new home in Halifax! So let’s see if we can get some weekly head straightening, shall we?

From left to right:

Four of Pentacles Reversed – General Atmosphere of the Week:

What are you holding on to this week? Like the child gripping their favourite toy in the school yard, are you shutting others out and not willing to share what you have? Are you stuck in a predictable, albeit comfortable, rut? Most likely, this is a time where you are not willing to take risks, particularly those of a financial nature, even if it might benefit your spiritual and emotional self in the long-term. Shaking things up in your routine doesn’t immediately spell disaster. The strong foundation that you’ve worked for is the net that catches you when you fall, it won’t disintegrate from the smallest of tremors.

The Sun Reversed – Potential Challenges:

The sun is always a positive card, but reversed may indicate an inability to appreciate the smaller pleasures in life. Joy is in abundance everywhere you look, especially in the fine, summer weather. This card is really asking whether you attention is focused on the happiness that is right in front of your face.

King of Pentacles Reversed – How to Make the Most of Your Time:

When we look at the King of Pentacles we see the executor of all practical affairs. He knows how to balance his property and finances on an even keel. Unlike the Four of Pentacles, he isn’t afraid to spend his money on the things he enjoys, but still maintains some security for himself. Reversed suggests loosening a grip on your finances and indulging in simple pleasures.

The Fully Woven Story:

In the Reversed Four of Pentacles and King of Pentacles, there is an indication that you may be holding onto what’s yours too tightly, resulting in too much restriction and routine in your week. Loosen your grip on the fleeting material world and enjoy the sun that’s always been there above you.
